The HNU Hawks men's soccer team began their conference with the best possible start. Playing against Menlo College, a local rival, the Hawks found themselves 1-0 up in the space of the first 2 minutes of the game. A long through ball by winger Doug Alves sent Jonathan Tinjaca through 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, who struck the ball firmly down the middle of the goal.

HNU is swarmed by the Sun Birds

HNU Hawks Men's Soccer travled to Fresno Pacific on Tuesday night. Fresno Pacific, a ranked team every year, are also the hosts of the NAIA National Tournament.

The Hawks Kicked off and were automatically under pressure from two opponents; the strong and quick FPU team and the blistering heat. It was not long before the heat played its toll on the HNU players, as after 10 minutes a crafty forward turned Shea Whelan on the top of the box, and dribbled it into the danger area… Continue

HNU Falls To Concordia

September 19th 2009

The HNU Hawks went into the game against Concordia an unbeaten team this year. They had previously tied with Corban College and The Masters College, and won against Point Loma. Concordia would be their biggest test yet.

Concordia have been ranked number 2 in the National Polls this year, and came into the game ranked Number 9.

Hawks Travel to Southern California- V's The Masters College

September 12th 2009

The Hawks were well prepared for the heat that was to face them in Santa Clarita at The Masters College. Coach Hart and Coach Pouzeaud had both players against Masters in 2007 in their senior year as players for the Hawks, and had first hand experience of the heat, at 104 degrees in the shade.

This year the Hawks were fortunate to have a breeze across the field that kept the game relatively cool.

HNU Hawks Travel to Southern California- V's Point Loma Nazarene

Septemeber 10th 2009

HNU Hawks traveled to southern California to face two opponents in 3 days with the idea of kick starting their season.
Hawks first opposition was Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego. The last time the two teams met the battle was immense ending in a 3-2 overtime golden goal win for PLNU. Coach Hart was hoping history would not repeat itself.
