Hawks Clip Dominican Penguins; Tame Bethany Bruins on CAL's home turf

HNU Softball has been working hard at meeting the challenges of Cal Pac conference play, most recently by taking two wins each off of both Dominican University and Bethany University (8-0 (5), 8-0 (5) and 7-5, 10-2 (5) respectively). Hawks Return to Nor Cal for Conference Play

After a week in the southern sunshine, and returning home with a 5 for 8 record against mostly mid-western schools, the Holy Names Hawks showed they could dominate the ball with the best of them, using the "mercy rule" with 8-0, 14-2 and 13-0 games, while battling very competitive teams like Tufts University who were the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) champions for 2008 and NFCA ranked #10 in 2009 pre-season. HNU Finds Success and Challenge in So Cal

The Spring Break trip for Softball to So Cal has been very different so far than the the trip in mid-February. February found the Hawks playing games outside on the diamond for the first time all Spring because of the rainy season, with a tough schedule against perennial GSAC powers Azusa Pacific, Biola, Vanguard and CSU-San Marcos.
