Oakland, CA - The HNU Men’s Golf Team has announced the signing of three new recruits for the 2008-2009 season. Robbie Bendorf, Austin Fink and Garrett True will join a Hawks team returning six golfers from last season.
Robbie Bendorf will be transferring from Sierra College in Rocklin, California. They captured back to back Northern California Community College Championships in 2007 and 2008. Bendorf had a successful sophomore year taking medalist honors in three tournaments with scoring average of 73.9. “Robbie has a great work ethic and is a strong team motivator,” said Coach Greg Hutton.

Austin Fink is sophomore from Roseville, California. Austin will join the Hawks after playing last year at Sierra College. As a freshman, Fink had a 75.4 scoring average while always contributing with good rounds during the 2008 season. As a sophomore, Austin is very athletic and has the potential to be an outstanding golfer. “As a sophomore, I expect Austin to become a come member of this team for the next three years,” said Coach Hutton. Fink has a bright future ahead of him as an HNU Hawk.

Garrett True comes to HNU from Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California. Garrett has had a successful junior college career including a second place finish at the 2008 Southern California Community College Championships with a 36 hole total of three under par for 141. As a sophomore, Garrett had a 73.92 scoring average in a very strong Orange Empire Conference. True has also had a successful summer competing in a number of well known amateur events and posting a number of very respectable scores. Garrett will contribute immediately in number of ways. “True has a ton of game and should have a very successful career at HNU,” said Coach Greg Hutton.
