The HNU men’s golf capped off an incredible season with a top 10 finish at the NAIA national championship.

After struggling to an opening round 315, the Hawks ended day one in 24th place out of 29 teams. Looking to make a statement on day two, the Hawks shot 303 to climb ten spots and finish the day in 14th place. As day three began, the Hawks knew that the field would be cut down to the top 17 teams for the fourth and final day of competition. Shooting 297 the Hawks once again moved climbed the leader board finishing day three in 10th place. Showing mental toughness as a team, the Hawks shot 303 in the final round to finish 10th overall.

The Hawks were lead by Daniel Harrington who finished in 18th place, followed by Nikhil Dhawan (21), Garret True (35), Robert Bendorf (79) and Daren Johnson (84).

After a successful 2008-2009 season, the Hawks will be returning the whole squad for the 2009-2010 season. With a couple of transfer standouts being added to the team, the Hawks have their eyes set on bringing home a national title next year.
