Round One Complete for golfers
The Holy Names University Golf Team finished the first round tied for 20th at 31 over par. The guys considered this a sub par performance and are looking forward to getting back on the course today! Nikhil Dhawan led HNU after day one, shooting +6 in the opening round. Robert Bendorf will be the first HNU Golfer to hit the course today , his tee time is slated for 12:45 PM (cst), 10:45 AM (pst).
The National Tournament field will be cut down after the third round; the format is below:
“Up to 30 teams plus individuals will qualify for the national tournament. The championship is a four-round tournament consisting of a maximum of 156 golfers. Competition is stroke play. Each team competes with five golfers (minimum of four) and the top four scores posted each day are counted toward the team standings. The tournament field is cut after 54 holes and reduced to the top 17 teams and 40 individuals (including ties).”
